2027 Kia Telluride: Price, Trims and What Changed
OVERVIEW
The 2027 Kia Telluride starts at $39,190, but that number only tells part of the story. Kia redesigned its 3-row SUV for a second generation, bringing a new turbocharged engine, more interior space, a more capable X Pro, and a hybrid option for the first time.
What shoppers are likely to encounter is also different from the headline starting price. AutoFinder analyzed 14,332 recent new 2027 Telluride listings and found a median advertised price of $56,312. The middle half of the listings analyzed were priced between $51,170 and $58,821.
That gap makes more sense when you look at the vehicles represented in recent listings. About 64% were hybrids, and 84% had All Wheel Drive. Base models made up only a small portion of the selection.
For shoppers, that makes the 2027 Telluride less about its $39,190 starting price and more about choosing the right powertrain, drivetrain, and trim for your budget.
What's New on the 2027 Kia Telluride?
The 2027 Telluride begins the SUV's second generation, so this is more than a typical model year update.
The biggest changes include:
A new 274 hp turbocharged gasoline engine
The first Telluride Hybrid
A longer wheelbase
More passenger and cargo space
Redesigned exterior and interior styling
Updated technology and driver assistance features
A more capable X Pro
Up to 9.1 inches of ground clearance on X Pro models
Improved third-row access
One of the biggest changes is under the hood. The previous Telluride's naturally aspirated V6 is gone. Gasoline models now use a turbocharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, while shoppers who prioritize fuel economy can choose the new hybrid.

How Much Is the 2027 Kia Telluride?
The 2027 Telluride LX starts at $39,190 MSRP before destination and other costs.
But finding a Telluride advertised around $39,000 is uncommon in the current marketplace.
AutoFinder analyzed 14,332 recent new 2027 Telluride listings with advertised prices as of September 28, 2026. The median advertised price was $56,312, with the middle half between $51,170 and $58,821.
Only 5 listings in the analysis were advertised below $40,000. The LX FWD itself accounted for just 116 listings, or less than 1% of the sample, and had a median advertised price of $41,727.
Here is Kia's starting pricing for the gasoline Telluride:
| 2027 Telluride Trim | Drivetrain | Option B |
|---|---|---|
| LX | FWD | $39,190 |
| S | FWD | $42,090 |
| S | AWD | $44,090 |
| EX | FWD | $43,790 |
| EX | AWD | $45,790 |
| X Line EX | AWD | $47,290 |
| SX | FWD | $48,790 |
| X Line SX | AWD | $51,790 |
| X Pro SX | AWD | $53,690 |
| SX Prestige | AWD | $53,890 |
| X Line SX Prestige | AWD | $54,890 |
| X Pro SX Prestige | AWD | $56,790 |
These are manufacturer starting prices, not necessarily the advertised price of a particular vehicle. Destination charges, options, packages, accessories, and other equipment can change what appears on an individual listing.
Across the configurations AutoFinder analyzed, median advertised prices were roughly $1,900 to $2,900 above the corresponding starting MSRP. That should not automatically be interpreted as a dealer markup. Starting MSRP does not account for every cost or piece of equipment included on a particular vehicle.
2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid

How Much Is the 2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid?
The 2027 model year introduces the first Telluride Hybrid, starting at $46,490 for the EX FWD.
| 2027 Telluride Hybrid Trim | Drivetrain | Starting MSRP |
|---|---|---|
| EX | FWD | $46,490 |
| EX | AWD | $48,490 |
| SX | FWD | $51,490 |
| X Line SX | AWD | $54,490 |
| SX Prestige | AWD | $56,590 |
| X Line SX Prestige | AWD | $57,590 |
One of the more interesting findings from AutoFinder's marketplace analysis is how well represented the new hybrid already is.
Of the 14,332 recent Telluride listings analyzed, 9,209 were hybrids, or about 64%. Gasoline models accounted for 5,123.
The median advertised price was $57,495 for hybrids and $52,023 for gasoline models. That does not mean choosing the hybrid automatically adds about $5,500 to the price. The hybrid lineup is concentrated in higher trims, so comparing the same trim and drivetrain gives a much better picture.
How Much More Does the Telluride Hybrid Cost?
Kia prices the gasoline EX FWD at $43,790 and the Hybrid EX FWD at $46,490. That's a $2,700 difference in starting MSRP.
Recent advertised prices were remarkably close to that difference.
AutoFinder found a median advertised price of $46,594 for the gasoline EX FWD and $49,295 for the Hybrid EX FWD.
The difference was $2,701.
The same pattern appeared with the EX AWD. Its median difference between gasoline and hybrid models was $2,696.
Across all 6 configurations where AutoFinder could match the same trim and drivetrain between gasoline and hybrid models, the median advertised price difference ranged from $2,535 to $3,015.
That makes roughly $2,700 a useful starting point when comparing the cost of equivalent gasoline and hybrid Tellurides. Whether paying more for the hybrid makes sense will depend on how much you drive, fuel prices, the specific vehicles you're comparing, and how long you plan to keep the SUV.
What Engine Does the 2027 Kia Telluride Have?
Gasoline versions of the 2027 Telluride use a 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 274 hp and 311 lb ft of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The outgoing Telluride's V6 produced more peak horsepower at 291 hp, but the new turbocharged engine delivers considerably more torque.
That additional torque can be useful when accelerating with passengers and cargo aboard, merging onto a highway, or towing.
What Is Different About the Telluride Hybrid?
The Telluride Hybrid pairs a turbocharged 2.5 liter engine with electric motors and a 1.65 kWh battery.
Combined output is 329 hp and 339 lb ft of torque, giving the hybrid more horsepower and torque than the standard gasoline version. It uses a 6 speed automatic transmission.
Fuel economy is the bigger difference.
The Hybrid EX FWD is rated at:
34 mpg city
36 mpg highway
35 mpg combined
The EX AWD is rated at 30 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 31 mpg combined. Ratings vary across the rest of the hybrid lineup.
For families that put a lot of miles on a 3 row SUV, that difference could make the hybrid worth considering. And based on AutoFinder's recent listing analysis, shoppers should not assume the hybrid will be difficult to find. Hybrids represented nearly 2 out of every 3 listings in the sample.
Which 2027 Kia Telluride Trim Should You Consider?
There is a sizable price difference between an entry level Telluride and an upper trim hybrid, so it helps to start with the features and capability you actually need.
Telluride LX
The LX is the least expensive Telluride at $39,190.
It includes the new turbocharged engine along with a 12.3 inch touchscreen with navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wireless Android Auto.
The catch is availability at the very bottom of the lineup. AutoFinder found only 116 recent LX FWD listings, with a median advertised price of $41,727.
Telluride S
The S starts at $42,090 with front wheel drive or $44,090 with all wheel drive.
For shoppers trying to keep the price closer to the mid $40,000 range, it provides another place to look before moving into the more expensive trims.
Telluride EX
The EX deserves a close look because it is the least expensive trim offered with either gasoline or hybrid power.
Gasoline EX pricing starts at $43,790, while the Hybrid EX starts at $46,490.
AutoFinder's listing analysis found almost exactly the same $2,700 difference between comparable EX FWD models, making this one of the cleanest places in the lineup to decide whether the hybrid's additional cost makes sense for you.
The gasoline EX also offers seating for up to 8, which may matter for larger families.
Telluride SX
The gasoline SX starts at $48,790, while the Hybrid SX starts at $51,490.
At this point, the Telluride moves further into premium family SUV territory. Compare the features included on the actual vehicles you're considering rather than moving up solely because a higher trim is available.
Telluride X Line
X Line models combine all wheel drive with different styling and additional equipment.
They also make up a significant portion of the recent marketplace. The Hybrid X Line SX and Hybrid X Line SX Prestige together accounted for about 43% of all recent Telluride listings AutoFinder analyzed.
Shoppers looking toward the upper end of the Telluride lineup may therefore encounter these configurations frequently.
Telluride X Pro
X Pro models are aimed at shoppers who want more capability beyond the standard all wheel drive Telluride.
For 2027, X Pro equipment includes up to 9.1 inches of ground clearance, an electronic limited slip differential, wider all terrain tires, additional suspension travel, multi terrain AWD modes, recovery points, and an available Ground View Monitor.
The X Pro SX starts at $53,690, while the X Pro SX Prestige starts at $56,790.
If most of your driving involves commuting, errands, and highway trips, you may not need all of that hardware. If rough roads, campsites, snow, or unpaved routes are a regular part of your driving, the X Pro becomes easier to justify.
What Budget Do You Need for a 2027 Telluride?
The $39,190 starting MSRP tells you where the lineup begins. The marketplace data gives a better idea of where the current selection is concentrated.
Among the recent listings AutoFinder analyzed:
0.03% were advertised below $40,000
2.1% were advertised below $45,000
17.2% were advertised below $50,000
42.3% were advertised below $55,000
85.5% were advertised below $60,000
The largest concentration was between $55,000 and $59,999, accounting for about 43% of the sample.
That does not mean you need to spend $55,000 to get a Telluride. It means shoppers have considerably fewer configurations to choose from at the bottom of the price range.
If your budget is below $45,000, expect a narrower selection. Every listing AutoFinder analyzed below that price was gasoline powered.
Is AWD Easy to Find on the 2027 Telluride?
Yes. About 84% of the recent 2027 Telluride listings AutoFinder analyzed had all wheel drive.
The price difference also tracked closely with Kia's starting prices.
When AutoFinder compared configurations where the same trim and powertrain were represented with both front wheel drive and all wheel drive, the median advertised difference ranged from $1,857 to $1,991. Kia's corresponding starting MSRP difference is $2,000.
If you want AWD, there are plenty of choices in the current listing sample. Shoppers specifically looking for front wheel drive may have a smaller pool to choose from.
How Much Space Does the 2027 Telluride Have?
The redesigned Telluride has a 116.9 inch wheelbase and provides more room for passengers and cargo.
Kia lists 22.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, including storage below the luggage tray cover. Fold the third row and capacity increases to 48.7 cubic feet. Maximum cargo capacity behind the first row is 89.3 cubic feet.
For families, the practical test matters more than the measurements alone.
If you regularly carry a stroller, sports equipment, luggage, car seats, or other bulky items, see how those things fit with the third row in use. A large maximum cargo number is less helpful if you routinely need all 3 rows for passengers.
How Many People Does the 2027 Telluride Seat?
The 2027 Telluride seats either 7 or 8 passengers depending on the configuration.
Within the gasoline lineup, Kia lists 8 passenger seating for the LX and EX. The S, X Line EX, SX, X Line SX, SX Prestige, X Line SX Prestige, X Pro SX, and X Pro SX Prestige are 7 passenger configurations.
The Telluride Hybrid lineup seats 7.
If seating for 8 is one of the main reasons you're shopping for a 3 row SUV, pay close attention to the trim rather than assuming every Telluride has the same seating layout.
What Changed With the Telluride X Pro?
The X Pro existed on the previous Telluride, but Kia has given it more capability for the new generation.
For 2027, X Pro upgrades include:
Up to 9.1 inches of ground clearance
Electronic limited slip differential
Wider all terrain tires
Multi terrain AWD modes
Additional suspension travel
Front and rear recovery points
Available Ground View Monitor
These changes make the X Pro more than an appearance package.
The Telluride is still designed primarily as a family SUV, but shoppers who regularly travel on rough roads or unpaved routes get more functional equipment than before.
How Much Can the 2027 Kia Telluride Tow?
Gasoline versions of the Telluride can tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped.
The Telluride Hybrid has a maximum towing capacity of 4,500 pounds.
That creates another practical difference between the powertrains. The hybrid offers much better fuel economy, while the gasoline model provides the higher maximum towing rating.
If towing is part of your plans, check the specifications for the exact Telluride you're considering. Trailer weight, passengers, cargo, accessories, and vehicle configuration all affect how much you can safely tow.
What Technology and Safety Features Changed?
The redesigned Telluride gets an updated cabin and expanded technology, although equipment varies by trim.
A 12.3 inch touchscreen with navigation is standard on the LX, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Kia also says the redesigned Telluride has 10 standard airbags, including a center airbag between the driver and front passenger.
The 2027 Telluride earned a 2026 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ designation for vehicles built after June 2026. That production date matters because IIHS says earlier 2027 Tellurides were equipped with headlights that received a lower rating.
If that safety award matters to your decision, check the production date of the specific vehicle you're considering rather than assuming every 2027 Telluride qualifies.
Is the 2027 Kia Telluride Worth Considering?
There is a lot more separating the 2027 Telluride from the previous generation than a styling refresh.
The new hybrid is probably the biggest change. It combines 329 hp with substantially better fuel economy than the gasoline model, and AutoFinder's analysis shows that hybrid selection is already broad.
The gasoline Telluride brings its own advantages, including seating for up to 8 in certain trims and a higher maximum towing capacity.
If you're also considering a Telluride from the previous generation, compare the actual vehicles and prices rather than assuming the newer model automatically provides better value.
A previous-generation Telluride at the right advertised and out-the-door price may still make sense if you do not need the hybrid powertrain or the redesigned model's additional features.
How Should You Shop for a 2027 Telluride?
Start with the powertrain.
If fuel economy is a priority, compare equivalent gasoline and hybrid trims. The EX provides a particularly useful comparison, with AutoFinder's marketplace analysis showing roughly the same $2,700 price difference reflected in Kia's starting prices.
If maximum towing capacity or seating for up to 8 matters more, focus on the appropriate gasoline configurations.
Next, decide whether you need All Wheel Drive. AWD dominates the current listing sample, while Front Wheel Drive is available on a smaller group of configurations.
Then set a realistic budget. Below $45,000, AutoFinder found a relatively small selection and no hybrids. More choices begin appearing as the budget approaches $50,000, while the largest concentration of recent listings fell between $55,000 and $60,000.
Once you have narrowed the field, compare the advertised price and equipment on individual vehicles rather than MSRP alone.
Use AutoFinder's out-the-door price calculator to estimate how taxes and fees affect the total purchase price.
You can also use the car payment calculator to compare how price, down payment, loan term, and APR affect the monthly payment.
Before making a trip to a dealership, confirm that the Telluride you're interested in is still available.
Final Thoughts
The 2027 Kia Telluride is a meaningful redesign, but there is no single configuration that tells the whole story.
The gasoline model offers seating for up to 8 in certain trims and a higher maximum towing capacity. The new hybrid brings more power and significantly better fuel economy, with an advertised price difference of roughly $2,700 when comparable configurations are matched.
AutoFinder's marketplace analysis adds another useful reality check. The $39,190 starting price represents a small portion of recent listings. Among the 14,332 listings analyzed, the median advertised price was $56,312, about 64% were hybrids, and about 84% had All Wheel Drive.
Start by deciding which powertrain and seating arrangement work for your family, then narrow the trims and compare actual vehicles within your budget. That will tell you far more about what a 2027 Telluride will cost than the starting MSRP alone.
